The History
I started my architecture studio in late 2009 when I found people were seeking designer specialists to redesign their homes and small offices. With the recession looming, companies and families were investing in what they already owned to make their environments more efficient and appealing. Having worked for a small architectural firm, Shulfer Architects, I learned how to manage an architectural project from design concept through construction, how to assemble a team, how to listen to a client, and how to work with contractors. The projects ranged from condominium remodels to apartment complexes, restaurants to large warehouses. Though the projects were diverse, our approach was consistent: they were as important to us as they were to the client. This experience lead me into the next phase of my career as I became a licensed architect and forged my own path: Jeannie Kowing Design LLC.
About Me,
Jeannie Kowing
I always wanted to be an architect so I began by designing houses for my Barbie dolls. I never lost the desire so my father taught me how to draft and use tools to build. As the daughter of an engineer and an interior designer, I was destined to follow my dream.
I was born and raised in Madison, WI where I make my home with my husband Mike.
